Synchro 1A and 1B

This is a fun, development based program to introduce girls to the sport of synchronized swimming. Girls interested in this recreational program will become familiar with, try, and explore creative movement and pre-fundamental synchronized swimming skills in a group context. Recommended for swimmers who have passed Level 3. Recommended Age: 6-10 years.
Synchro 1Bs train Fridays 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Dates: January 12th to April 27th. No swimming on February 16th or April 6th.

Pre-Tier Program

This is development based full year program to introduce girls to the sport of synchronized swimming. Girls work on developing mastery over pre-fundamental and fundamental skills in figures and routines. Girls are registered with the Synchro Alberta recreational program and work towards mastering skills outlined in the Synchro Canada recreational star program. The Pre-Tier program is recommended for swimmers having passed AQ4 or 5/Level 3 or 4, or swimmers having completed Aquasquirts, or Synchro 1A or 1B. Recommended age 8 years.
Pretiers will train Wednesdays 5;15-7:15 p.m

Pre-Competitive Program

For girls with prior experience in the pre-tier program. This program is suited for swimmers wishing to show off and expose their skills to audiences beyond that of the year end watershow. Training for girls in the pre-competitive program will focus on fun, skill development, and a safe progressive approach to mastery of synchronized swimming. Girls in the Sea Sprites pre-competitive program will be provided opportunities to pre-swim (swim without competing in front of a panel of judges to help warm-up the panel for competition) for both figure and routine events. The program is designed as a non-threatening introduction to competition. The program is intended for girls with 1-2 years at the pre-tier level.
Pre-competitive athletes will train: Mondays 6:15-8:15 p.m. and Fridays 4:45-6:45 p.m. 

Competitive / Tier Program


Tier 1 Competitive:

Tier 1 is the entry level competitive program. This is open for tryouts. Girls will be accepted into the program if they demonstrate a pass mark on fundamental physical skills including eggbeater, front pike pull, ballet leg transition, front pike somersault, back pike somersault, Support scull in table top, kick pull kick, body boost. Girls must sign the CWC code of conduct and attendance policy. If girls do not pass the test, they will be placed on the pre-competitive team. The program is recommended for girls with 2 years of prior synchro experience.

FOLLOWING OCTOBER 16th - Tier 1s will train:

  • Mondays 5:30-6:00 dance , 6-8:15 PM water
  • Wednesdays, 5:15-7:15 PM POOL (optional bonus routines)
  • Fridays 4:30-6:45 PM at CWC
  • Sundays (once per month at Talisman Centre) - 9:00-10:30 AM
Tier 2/3:

Tier 2/3 competitive program is designed for athletes who have passed their Tier 2
or 3 test. Athletes must sign the CWC code of conduct and attendance policy.

FOLLOWING OCTOBER 16th - TIER 2/3 will train:

  • Mondays 4:45-5:45 PM varied fitness, 6-8:15 PM water
  • Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15 PM alt group flex and pilates , 5:30-7:15 PM POOL
  • Fridays will occur on a rotation (details to be provided on October 16th) including 6:30-9:30 PM at SAIT,
  • 4:30-6:45 PM at CWC and 6:00-8:00 AM at CWC
  • Sundays 7-9:30 team, 9:30-10:30 bonus routines, 10:40-11:40 yoga at CWC, 1X/month at Talisman.
Tier 4/5:

Tier 4/5 competitive program is designed for athletes who have passed their Tier 4 or 5 test. Athletes must sign the CWC code of conduct and attendance policy.

FOLLOWING OCTOBER 16th - TIER 4-6s will train:

  • Mondays 4:45-5:45 PM varied fitness, 6-8:15 PM water
  • Wednesdays (alternating) 6-8 AM and 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Fridays will occur 2X/month 6:30-9:30 PM at SAIT and 2X/month at 4:30-6:45 PM at CWC
  • Sundays 7-11:40 AM at CWC, 1X/month at Talisman Centre.
Weekly strength training and associated assesments/re-assessments.
